Octo v0.1.1 Pre-Release — GitHub Actions Support (Bugfix)

We’re releasing Octo v0.1.1 (pre-release) with targeted bugfixes that make Octo usable inside CI environments — in particular GitHub Actions. This release fixes runner startup and non-interactive authentication issues so Octo can be added directly to your GitHub pipelines and workflows.

What's included

  • Note: Installer still is called v0.1!
  • Fixes for non-interactive token handling and environment/path resolution in CI.
  • Now working with GitHub Actions, Mutlirunner enablement.
  • Documentation and examples for integrating Octo into GitHub Actions workflows.

Octo v0.1 Pre-Release

We’re excited to announce the first pre-release of Octo: version 0.1. This early release is designed for developers who want to test Octo as pilot users and give us feedback before the official stable launch.

Highlights

  • Server + Runner Architecture – run code remotely with isolated execution environments.
  • Client CLI – simple commands like octo run to execute code on connected servers.
  • Multi-Language Support – Python, C/C++, JavaScript, Go, Rust, and more via Docker integration.
  • Token-Based Authentication – secure connection between server and runners.
  • Cross-Platform – available for Linux and Windows.

About this Release

Version 0.1 is focused on the core architecture: stability, connectivity, and basic feature set. It may not yet include all planned functionality, but it’s a solid foundation for early adopters who want to start experimenting with Octo today.

As a pilot user, your feedback is invaluable. Try it out, push the limits, and let us know what works — and what doesn’t. Together, we’ll shape Octo into the most seamless remote execution tool for developers.
